As a lover of all things equestrian and a horse owner you're spoilt for choice for activities to participate in with your horse. It's important to make sure you have insurance in place that would protect you in case an accident occurred. Whether your equestrianism of choice is gentle hacking or high-level show jumping you'll need horse insurance cover that suits your particular requirements. And as the type of events in which you and your horse participate will affect the kind of horse coverage you're eligible for, be careful to look at the differences between Class A Cover and Class B Cover when you're completing the online request for a horse or pony insurance quote. Read on for more details of the two types of cover and to find out which one is best for you.
If you wish to build Class A Cover into your equine insurance you will receive a generous amount of cover as standard. You'll be insured for pony and riding club (excluding racing), hacking, dressage, gymkhanas, show jumping (novice or intermediate and unaffiliated only), hunter trials, driving, and showing in hand or under saddle. You'll also receive as standard liability insurance up to the value of £2m, £2000 cover for death and theft/straying and up to £50,000 for legal protection for any one incident.
Class A Cover also insures non-thoroughbred broodmares and stallions at stud and for heavy horses (not working). It thus comprises comprehensive horse coverage – and you'll find it available at a very competitive price through Compare Horse Insurance.
If you require slightly more extensive cover for your equine activities you'll want to consider Class B Cover. Included in this is cover for all the pursuits insured under Class A Cover plus more. If you participate in hunting, pony club racing, unaffiliated open show jumping or BSJA affiliated show jumping, affiliated open hunter trials, combined training, long distance riding, vaulting and heavy horses (working).
Class C Cover allows you to insure your horse for point-to-point, team chasing, polo and even the increasingly popular sport horseball. For Class C insurance we would have to refer to the insurer.
Whatever you preference you'll find horse coverage appropriate for you through our website. Just select the type of cover you want when completing the online request for a quote.
